Travertine Looked Dull and Washed Out
Homeowners in Surprise, Arizona contacted us because the elegance of their backyard travertine patio had become diminished. The harsh Arizona sun, exposure to the elements, and several years without any professional attention had all taken a toll on the travertine, and it looked dull and washed out.
Our Professional Travertine Restoration Services
At Beyond Stone Solutions, we manufacture our very own concentrated, pH-balanced Natural Stone & Tile Cleaner. Our cleaning process began with a generous application of this powerful, yet completely safe professional solution. After allowing ample dwell time to soften hardened contaminants, we used floor machines mounted with special pads to scrub and flush out deeply embedded dirt and grime. We were extremely thorough, paying attention to small details like hand scrubbing the grout joints, as well as the sections along the wall and around the columns, where our floor machine did not reach.
The final step was to apply a Dry Treat enhancer called INTENSIFIA™ to protect the stone from moisture and oils common in an exterior environment. This treatment beautifully intensified the colors that naturally occur in travertine.
About Dry Treat
Most sealers and enhancers used on exterior surfaces in Arizona will break down and fade within a couple of years. The reason we prefer using Dry Treat sealers on exterior surfaces is that it can be expected to last much longer before another application is needed (although it is still recommended to be professionally deep cleaned every one to two years). There are some Dry Treat sealers that come with five, fifteen, or twenty-five year written warranties against the absorption of water and oil, but only if the sealer is applied by a Dry Treat accredited applicator and a regular cleaning schedule is maintained. Beyond Stone Solutions is a Dry Treat accredited applicator, and we will be happy to provide proof of treatment for your records, as well as answer any questions you may have about Dry Treat sealers and products.
