Surface Damage and Signs of Wear on Travertine Floor
Homeowners in Phoenix, Arizona, contacted us for a FREE estimate on travertine floor honing and polishing services. Week after week and month after month, they noticed the appearance of the travertine floor finish showing more and more signs of wear and surface damage. From minor scratches and scuffs to etch marks to traffic patterns, things eventually got to the point where no amount of sweeping and mopping made a difference. That’s when they decided it was time for professional restoration.
Our Travertine Honing and Polishing Process
Although most of the damage was in the kitchen, we refinished all the interior travertine.
Stone restoration is not very messy, nevertheless, we masked and protected surfaces around our work area to contain any spatters.
To remove the surface damage, we honed the floor with diamond pads mounted on a floor machine. Using of progressively finer grit abrasives, we honed and polished until the desired finish, a high polish, we achieved. We finished up with an application of impregnating sealer.
The homeowners were glad to see the floor looking fresh, clean, and inviting once again.
