Improper Sealer
A very common natural stone fountain problem we see is calcium deposits. Scottsdale homeowners called us because certain parts of their travertine fountain had discolored, flaking areas overrun with calcium deposits. The poor condition of the fountain was detracting from the overall appeal of the this backyard centerpiece.
Blasting and Enhancing
There is a way to strip calcium deposits without the use of toxic chemicals. It is called dustless media blasting. This is the process we used to restore the fountain finish and prepare it for proper sealing. We enhanced the natural color in the travertine by applying Dry Treat Intensifia. This is a highly recommended professional sealer that also provides superior stain protection.
With our professional restoration services, this gorgeous fountain will retain its elegance for years to come. To learn more, visit our Travertine Services page.
About Dry Treat
Most sealers and enhancers used on exterior surfaces in Arizona will break down and fade within a couple of years. The reason we prefer using Dry Treat sealers on exterior surfaces is that it can be expected to last much longer before another application is needed (although it is still recommended to be professionally deep cleaned every one to two years). Dry Treat warranties are only valid if the sealer is applied by a Dry Treat accredited applicator and a regular cleaning schedule is maintained. Beyond Stone Solutions is a Dry Treat accredited applicator, and we will be happy to provide proof of treatment for your records, as well as answer any questions you may have about Dry Treat sealers and products.
